Blue Bell Wedding Photographer – Brandon & Jackie Tie the Knot!

On a cloudy and rainy Spring day in April, Brandon & Jackie stood in front of their friends and family and pledged to love each other for the rest of their lives. The happy couple met when they were only 8 years old and always had a “thing” for each other. They began dating later on in 2009, making their marriage the culmination of an eight year courtship. Brandon proposed in May of 2015 with a special inclusion of family and friends who held up a sign “Will You Marry Me?” behind the couple while they were posing for a photo. Jackie was shown the photo on the back of the camera while Brandon got down to his knee to formally ask….to which Jackie’s reply was, “Are you for real?” Fast forward almost two years to the misty April day where Jackie and her ladies got ready at the lovely Bluestone Country Club in Bluebell. The details that Jackie brought with her were beautiful and the ladies posed happily for a few photos before hopping into their gowns. After a touching first look with her father, her bridesmaids, and her brother, Jackie readied herself to walk down the stairs to the ballroom where her fiancé stood waiting for her, his groomsmen at his side. Brandon’s reaction to Jackie’s appearance at the end of the isle was one of the most touching moments that I’ve witnessed as a wedding photographer and it was beautiful to see how his love for his bride shown through his tears. After the ceremony began, led by Brandon’s former wrestling coach, the couple attempted to light a trick unity candle, exchanged rings, had their first kiss and took a shot to welcome Jackie into Brandon’s (very Irish) family. They processed down the aisle, took their wedding portraits outside and then proceeded into their reception where they partied the night away. Jackie changed into a different gown and her hair was put up into a beautiful bun right before the cake (a vanilla pound cake with Oreo filling) was cut. (Don’t worry, no crazy cake smash.) I am so honored and thrilled to have been a part of such a beautiful day and bonding with such a wonderful family. I am glad to call Jackie, Brandon, (and of course Darlene), my new friends and am so excited for their future together! Congratulations and here is to forever! For more work from this Blue Bell Wedding Photographer, click here.

Some DIY Details…

Both of our parents made a slide show with pictures of us through the years. The Groom, Groomsmen, and both fathers and grandfather wore boutonnieres that were shot gun shells (almost all of them hunt). Also the Groom and Groomsmen had feather bow ties that were made of different bird feathers. I gave all the Bridesmaids personalized hangers and robes. The hangers are from Etsy and the robes are from the Knot. The blue wraps around three bouquets (Brides, Matron of Honor, and one bridesmaid) was from our late Grandmothers dress that she wore to the brides parents wedding.

The flowers…

I had peonies and carnations (Carnations were one of my Grandmothers favourite flower- she passed in 2016) I also had roses and hydrangeas.

A special moment & highlight of the day…

I had many of these but they are all basically the same but with different people. I had a couple first looks with my bridesmaids, father, and brother. They were all special by seeing their faces and reaction. Also, having that quiet moment before I walked down the aisle with my parents. When we walked out and I saw Brandons reaction of crying, I tried really hard not to cry. I was so nervous though with all eyes on me.

A word from the Bride…

My wedding day was a whirlwind! It was beautiful, timeless, and everything that I could dreamt of.

Advice from the Bride…

Go with the flow, but stand up for what you want. There will be many, many comments and opinions on the decisions you make, do not bend on your vision because of them. When people say that “your wedding day flies by” they really mean it! Take a couple steps back during the ceremony and the reception and take it all in, because you will never get that moments back.  You have to be happy with your wedding and at the end of the day it is all about the Bride and Grooms happiness!
