Second Shooter Joelle Cope
Kerryn and Kyle have been together for many years. As it is typical for most weddings between childhood sweethearts, the families on both sides fit together like one big happy family. I had a wonderful time photographing this couple on their wedding day and am very proud of the images. For more work from this Delran Wedding Photographer, click here.
how they met…
We met in 7th grade, our middle school homeroom. We’ve pretty much been together ever since.
how he proposed…
Bermuda is my favorite place to go on vacation, and I am extremely close with my parents. Kyle knew this, so he decided to propose while we were on a family vacation there in 2016. We were driving our mopeds to dinner when Kyle suggested we stop at my favorite spot to take pictures. We were on a cliffside overlooking the water and he acted like he was getting his camera out of his backpack. He took a ring out instead, and I screamed “YES” before he even said anything. My parents were waiting back up by the mopeds and were cheering, and then we all went out to dinner to celebrate- it was a perfect night.
highlights of the day…
We had a few special moments and highlights- the first look was really emotional for me, I can’t really explain why, but it was really sweet. I also changed into my mom’s wedding dress and danced with my dad while wearing it, and I think that was really special for him as well. I also really enjoyed our friends’ speeches, they were so funny and made us feel so loved.
favorite personal touches…
My favorite personal touches were definitely our signature drinks and our signature sundae. We named the drinks “The Krissy Cosmo” and the “Cliffside Smash.” They were dedicated to my mom, who passed away about 6 months before the wedding. They were her favorite drinks, just renamed after her and the place we got engaged (a Cliffside). Our signature sundae was “The Jax” (our dog’s name) and it was vanilla ice cream with peanut butter, because that’s Jax’s favorite sweet treat.
advice from the bride…
I would say to not worry about the small details, or if something doesn’t go exactly as planned. In all honesty, you will probably be the only one who notices. Just spend time with your loved ones and have so much fun.
