Second Shooter: Joelle Cope
Kayla and Steve got married on a beautiful sunny day in September. Their wedding was nothing short of magical…from their first look by the lake, to their beautiful outdoor ceremony in the courtyard…right down to the stunning reception spot! I didn’t want just any photographer to snap clear focused pictures and call it day. I knew I wanted a talented artistic photographer with a good eye for different backdrops. I wanted someone who had a similar taste as me and understood the style of my wedding. The first day I met with Delaney I knew she would be the perfect person to shoot my wedding. Our style was very similar and I love how detail oriented she is. – Kayla
how they met…
We met at a summer job. After working with each other for a little while Steve asked me out on a date; we went to the movies and he forgot his wallet. He was so embarrassed. We have been together over 6 years now.
how he asked…
Steve took me to the The Lake House Inn on lake Nockamixon because he knew I loved it there. He’s never been there so he said he wanted me to show him around. As I was showing him the beautiful property I turned around and he was down on his knee holding a ring. I remember my heart stopping and my hand shaking because I was so shocked and excited
I fell in love with the grounds of Holly Hedge Estate. The court yard with the gates and the ivy growing up the walls was absolutely beautiful. There were so many options for photos and the venue didn’t need much décor because it was beautiful all by itself.
We gave each other little gifts and wrote each other notes to open as we were getting ready. The maid of honor and best man helped us exchange them without seeing each other. Steve’s note was so heartfelt, I still cry whenever I read it. We also wrote our own vows for the ceremony, it made the day much more emotional
the biggest surprise…
My husband and dad both cried as I walked down the aisle. Neither of them are criers so I was completely stunned. It made the ceremony even more emotional-if that was even possible!
advice from the bride…
Have a wedding planner there to help you make any decisions leading up to the day of as well as the wedding day itself. Its easy enough to plan everything yourself but everything goes a lot smoother when you have a personal assistant. As for the wedding day itself, don’t let yourself get stressed out over ANYTHING and soak in every single moment because it goes so fast. Go dance and don’t worry about stopping at every table.
