Shawn & Kristen’s beautiful love story was culminated on April 20, 2018 at a beautiful celebration at the Knowlton Mansion. The couple exchanged vows in front of their family and friends after a beautiful first look. The celebration that ensued after the couple were pronounced man and wife was a wonderful one and made for a beautiful ending to this chilly April day! How they met…
We met when Shawn messaged me on facebook after seeing my page through a mutual friends post. He messaged me about the show Ghost Adventures and I thought he was a big dork, but I have him a shot. HAHA clearly it paid off! We have been together now for over 4 years
…and the proposal…
We have always had a strange obsessive love for alpacas. For my birthday Shawn “adopted” an alpaca for me at a farm we had visited a few times before. He suggested we go visit our alpaca and when we arrived to meet her she was draped with a big sign that said Will You Marry Me?!
Lots of DIY. Mostly every decoration I saw in a store I just said to myself, I can make that, and I did! We had tons of wine bottles that my wonderful mother painstakingly spent hours rubbing the labels off of LOL. In addition we incorporated tons of wine corks, flowers, and vines to give the feel of being at a real winery.
Special moments or highlight of the day…
One of my favorite moments was right after our ceremony, Shawn and I snuck off to a side room and just hugged each other and had a moment to just take everything in, I will never forget it
Advice from the bride and groom…
Even if you are a DIY bride like me, if your friends and family offer to help, LET THEM! There are so many things that go into planning a wedding and people WANT to help, so don’t feel bad accepting that help.
