Second Shooter: Heather Wisler
The week before Christmas is already one of the most hectic weeks of the year. But this year was just a little more of a whirlwind for Jane and Kevin, who tied the knot 4 days before Christmas Day. The entire day before the wedding (and the morning of) was rainy…and I was sure that my last wedding of 2018 was going to be the wettest. (8 out of my 12 weddings were rainy and cloudy.) But luckily, the weather was decent, only about 60 degrees and the rain held off the rest of the day and night of the wedding. Jane and Kevin’s unique wedding ceremony tied in traditional Celtic symbolism and some even some ties into Norse mythology. Our wedding was everything that I could have dreamt and more. I didn’t want the night to end or to stop dancing… it was the best day that we ever had.
We met in our high school advanced placement art class, I was a sophomore and he was a junior. We have been together for almost 11 years!
We were in Ireland with my parents for a vacation visiting where both of our families come from. We went for a stroll in Dublin in the evening before our departure, he knelt down on one knee, and I said yes!
I loved walking upstairs after getting ready and seeing my dad. we didn’t have it photographed but its choking me up just thinking about it. I also loved Kevin’s huge grin during our ceremony! It was so exciting and I loved seeing him smile.
advice from the bride…
Just take a deep breath and let it happen! It goes by so quickly.
